Farrah Abraham Slammed After Using Daughter Sophia to Promote Weight Loss Tea
Farrah Abraham is no stranger to having her parenting choices questioned. She’s had to defend waxing her daughter Sophia’s eyebrows, letting her wear makeup to school, and even allowing her to participate in a bathing suit photo shoot. But her latest questionable parenting choice might be her most controversial one yet.
Yesterday (Nov. 1, 2016), Abraham posted a photo to her Instagram promoting FlatTummyTea weight loss tea, alongside 7-year-old Sophia. In the photo, Abraham holds up the tea package while Sophia sips from what looks like a coffee cup. The caption reads, “Teatime @flattummytea@sophialabraham & I- after all that candy 👻.”
Immediately, fans slammed Abraham for seemingly allowing her daughter to drink weight loss tea. “Giving non-approved dieting aids to a child, especially without the guidance of a doctor (which will not happen given the product and that there is no weight concern), is dangerous/ reckless. Plus, the message it sends is irresponsible and significantly damaging,” one person wrote.
While the post was justifiably alarming, Abraham says the post is not at all what it seems. “She has strawberry milk and I have my tea,” Abraham told Us Weekly. “She wanted to take a pic like that, so no, my daughter does not have tea in her cup.”
